This is bar none the best source of information regarding the events that led up to, during and after the battle that took place in Somalia in October of 1993. Paul's words are riveting and to the point. Having read every other book related to the battle on October 3/4, this goes above and beyond any other source of information that has been available to the public. There are many pictures and hard to find footage from Somalia 1993 included with Paul's commentary. Anyone interested in this subject will not be disappointed.

Paul's account of what happened leading up to and during the operation that spiraled out of control and laid the ground work for the movie "Black Hawk Down" is very, very informative as well as entertaining. Chocked full of interesting tid-bits of information, names of participants and a minds eye view of the battlefield from a top Delta operator. He lays out the escalating battle with a no holds barred honesty and attention to detail of actions, inactions, and of the surroundings. His narrative brings to attention the problems he witnessed in command breakdown, lack of cooperation between command groups which compounded the problems in those desperate days, and increased the casualties .

I was expecting a movie but it turned out to be a one person narrative. I much preferred Blackkhawk Down.
