American History X / A History of Violence (2011)

Usually when ever I see a 2 movie set on 1 DVD or Blu Ray I only like 1 movie or I already own the one I want.

These 2 are both violent flicks yet are not for voilence sake. But to tell 2 good stories.

I've always wanted both especially on Blu Ray and now both were $7.49.

5 stars for the deal alone. I purchased another 2 movie set at the same time. This one better. Both 5 star movies In my opinion.

So In every aspect this Is a 5 star deal. Hope this helps.

For the price, there isn't really much room to complain about this 2-movie collection. American History X has the better visual quality, but it's not extremely sharp. The black and white sequences look the best to me. Also, there's no extra features for American History X. A History of Violence has loads of extras, but the video suffers from DNR which attempts to smooth out the picture at the cost of losing visual detail. Both movies come on their own disc, so you aren't losing picture quality by squashing them onto a single blu-ray. I like both movies quite a bit, so to get both on blu-ray for under $10 was certainly worth it for me.

American history X is one of those movies that stays with you long after watching it. It should be required viewing is all schools for social studies..It takes an unflinching look at race relations in America and doesn't point fingers. It just puts it out there so you cannot do anything but confront it.

History of Violence is another little gem of a movie..A bit of a sleeper as it got very little notice when it came out..

They both look great on Blu-ray. PQ, SQ, ect are all BR worthy..Nothing to complain about..

This is just a personal opinion, but I don't like the multiple feature discs. However these are two great films and you can't beat them together, especially for the price.
